Elizabeth Emery est professeur à Montclair State University (New Jersey, États-Unis). Elle a publié plusieurs livres traitant la culture française du XIXe siècle, parmi lesquels Romancing the Cathedral: Gothic Architecture in Fin-de-siècle French Culture, Consuming the Past: The Medieval Revival in Fin-de-siècle France (avec Laura Morowitz) et Photojournalism and the Birth of the Author House Museum.
